Local Moving

A lot of people, moving across town or around the corner, look for a "local mover". They assume that agents for international van lines, like North American, aren't interested in local moving business.

Nothing could be further from the truth. As a North American agent, Koldon Moving is a local mover, as well as part of an international company.

In fact, you come out ahead by having us move you locally. The moving problems that come with moving have relatively little to do with distance. They have to do with packing, loading, and unloading your possessions, no matter where.

Sure, you can rent vans, trailers, trailer hitches, dollies, and other moving equipment. You can't beat their prices. But: you don't get the skill with the equipment. And the prices don't include protection against damage or loss during moving. And, most likely, neither does your current household insurance.

Let's take the first point: equipment does not a mover make. There's a certain physical risk in moving items such as appliances, heavy cabinets, and pianos. And if you're not in shape, you stand a chance of pulling a muscle, kinking your back, or somehow hurting yourself.

If you're only going to move a few boxes, perhaps it makes sense to save the money. But if you're going to move even one heavy appliance, it's not worth the chance you'll be taking.
